About us
Southern Cross Vineyard Church is a place where we are learning to personally receive and experience God’s love, and to extend that love to the community in which we live.
We are a casual group but we are also intentional. Our style is casual; we dress casual, and we are not regimented to a format, but we are intentional about loving God and loving others.
At Southern Cross Vineyard Church, we express our love for God through worship (including through singing songs together), through learning more about God through His word in the Bible, and through practically expressing the love of God to our community.

John & Paula Watson
Lead Pastors
We (John & Paula) spent some time in the USA in the early 90’s with Vineyard Churches, visiting places like Anaheim and Lancaster. We also spent time at the Vineyard Ranch outside of Lancaster, where we first dared to dream of the possibility of church planting.

After our time in the USA, we spent 5 months in Siberia, Russia, serving as part of a church planting team. After our time in Siberia, we returned to Queensland. We later moved to Sydney where we were involved with Sans Souci Vineyard Christian Fellowship, which later became know as Hurstville City Vineyard Church. We attended Sans Souci Vineyard for 10 years, 2 years of which were on staff.

We love our Southern Cross family, and love the ways that this community extends the Kingdom of God, and brings His compassion and restoration into the places where we live and work.
